The Board and Staff of the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) wish to extend their heartfelt condolences to the Ekiti Government, and the family of the late Funmilayo Adunni Olayinka, Deputy Governor of Ekiti State in Nigeria.

In her time in Office, H.E. Funmi Olayinka oversaw several strategic social change policies that will have a lasting positive impact on the women and communities of Ekiti State. She has been a stalwart supporter of AWDF for several years, and generously shared her knowledge of business and political participation with AWDF’s staff, grantee partners and women’s rights activists on numerous occasions.

Her departure is a great loss. May her soul rest in everlasting peace.
